I have been passionate about fitness since my weight-loss journey. Since 2016 I've been working out like a spartan. Training brings me peace of mind and a feeling of self-accomplishment.
I started off with resistance training (here, I give my preference to working with free weights). During the COVID-19 pandemic, I got into calisthenics.
Now I like to challenge myself to obstacle races such as Spartan and Tough Mudder, where I can my training to a test.
Rock climbing, specifically bouldering, is my new area of interest. I started rock climbing to see how much control I have over my own body and to counter my fear of heights.
So far I can climb V5 routes.
I've always loved nature and found it very comforting. On top of that, I enjoy a glimpse of another layer of diversity from my routine: the cultures. Traveling allows me to dive into a new environment, where absolutely every little detail fascinates me, a newcomer.
If I am not traveling, I like to go for challenging hikes in the area. My favorite trail is Breakneck Ridge to Fire Tower in Beacon, NY (11mi). Additionally to the mesmerizing views, it has a lot of challenges to offer: quick elevation gains, rock climbing patches and wild animals.
I've always sympathized animals, as they cannot take care of themselves with mankind hasty changing their home. I have a rescue little boy, Kisyusha (Russian "Kitty") at home.
I am a donor of a couple of animal rescue non-profit organizations. This makes me hopeful that at least some animals can get a fair chance to survive and have a comfortable living as they deserve.
You may almost always find me wearing my JayBird Vista headphones while commuting. Music plunges me into a different epic universe. I like listening to a broad spectrum of music genres.
However, the top musical experience is listening to live music at the concerts with all the special effects and general music-lover vibe.
